This pancocojams post presents a 2010 video of Gospel singer Shirley Caesar singing her introductory portion of the Gospel song "I' Feel Like Praising Him"' (also known as "I'm Going To Praise The Lord While I Have A Chance".
In 2016 DJ Suede remixed the introductory portion of that song for a contemporary (secular) dance challenge known as "Beans, Greens, Potatoes, Tomatoes, U Name It!".
A 2016 YouTube video of the U Name It challenge that features clips from two classic African American television shows "Sanford & Son" and "The Jeffersons" and other video clips of "old school" dancers is also included in this pancocojams post

I wrote this explanation in 2014 for the above linked pancocojams post:
" "Shouting John" (also known as "Hold My Mule") is a story that Shirley Caesar shares prior to singing the Gospel song "I'm Going To Praise The Lord While I Have A Chance". Shirley Caesar first recorded the story about Shouting John in 1988. "Because of the popularity of Shirley Caesar's rendition of that introductory story, her remix of "I"m Going To Praise The Lord While I Have A Chance", is most widely known as "Hold My Mule".
I don't know if Shirley Caesar is the author of the "Shouting John"/"Hold My Mule" story, but there's no doubt that that story was popularized by that Gospel singer since she first recorded it as a prelude to her 1988 rendition of "Praise The Lord" etc.". And there's also no doubt that Shirley Caesar's "Shouting John" story has become much more widely known as a result of Dj Suede's November 2016 production of the "U Name It Challenge".

THE STORY BEHIND "SHOUTING JOHN" (HOLD MY MULE)
This section emphasizes that the "Shouting John" ("Hold my mule") story is Shirley Caesar's introduction to the Gospel song "I'm Gonna Praise God While I Have A Chance"...
Here's the story about Shouting John:
A man named John belonged to a "dead church". (A dead church is one that doesn't believe in people shouting, getting happy, doing a holy dance, and otherwise praising God. The church tried to stop John from shouting, but he said that he would shout anyhow. He tells them about all the good things that God has done for him, including giving him land where he grows beans, greens, potatoes, tomatoes, you name it.
In its religious sense, "shouting" means "to show that you are feeling the Holy Spirit (The Holy Ghost) by dancing, moving, speaking in tongues, and/or other actions". People who feel the Holy Spirit say that it is like fire in their system, and they can not help but move. Note that "shouting" doesn't necessarily have anything to do with yelling (speaking loudly).
"John" asks people to hold (the straps to) his mule so that he can praise God by shouting. Henceforth, John was called "Shouting John"'.
As a result of that fictional story, the words "Hold my mule" have come to mean "getting rid of (removing) anything that prevents you from being able to worship God."

LYRICS: I'M GONNA PRAISE THE LORD WHILE I HAVE A CHANCE (ALSO CALLED "I FEEL LIKE PRAISING HIM")
I feel like praising, praising Him
Praise Him in the morning,
Praise Him all day long,
I feel like praising, praising Him.
I’m gonna praise the Lord while I have a chance
I’m gonna praise the Lord while I have a chance
Praise Him in the morning,
Praise Him all day long,
I feel like praising, praising Him.
If you don’t wanna praise Him don’t bother me
If you don’t wanna praise him don’t bother me
Praise Him in the morning,
Praise Him all day long,
I feel like praising, praising Him.
I’m gonna praise the Lord while I have a chance
I’m gonna praise the Lord while I have a chance
Praise Him in the morning,
Praise Him all day long,
I feel like praising, praising Him.
If you don’t wanna go don’t hinder me
If you don’t wanna go don’t hinder me
Praise Him in the morning,
Praise Him all day long,
I feel like praising, praising Him.
